Meet the founder

Hi there I am Sanchayita.

Amidst nature in the mountain state of Meghalaya, I grew up in the lovely capital town of Shillong. A setback came upon our family when my dad suddenly fell ill with paralysis and mom Mrs. Rani Roy had to take charge of the family. Bringing up 2 very young kids while managing a teaching job and caring for her children and husband. She is my first inspiration of resilience, when I watched her work so hard- managing the job, taking private tuitions, knitting woollens and attending morning college to complete her Graduation.

Being the elder kid, I was expected to step in from the age of 6, growing up faster than most, learning resilience and responsibility. While most kids enjoyed their play time, I had to take care of my little brother and focus on studies a lot more. Be it waking up at 3 am to prepare for the scholarship exams which could wave off my school fee or prepare for Medical Entrance test. My biggest heart break was when despite clearing the entrance test without any professional coaching, I couldn’t secure a seat as mom couldn't afford the medical college fee. She was not keen on asking for help from any of our relatives or take a loan as she was already overburdened. While I respected her decision, it was a crushing moment for me to even look at that qualifying certificate and marksheet of 12th exam, as  the admission door closed on me.

This is the time when many like me settle for basic qualification even if they want to go for higher education. I took up my first job to support my family at 19. This is the time when I asked my mom to resign from her teaching job to complete masters in Bengali language which she always wanted to do, but did not have a chance earlier.

While I too wanted to learn new skills, get higher education, travel, go for those Mountain Treks - that I absolutely love, financial restrictions kept me constrained.

Knowing how it feels to settle for basic, even when you have the capability to pursue something beyond, I always wanted to be there for someone who faced similar challenges like me. However I didn’t know how to go about it or where to start from, for a very long time.

When I got married, I met another strong woman in my Mother-in-law Mrs. Jaswant Kaur, who brought up 2 strong children while fighting with cancer. Fueled by their sacrifices and resilience I was determined to break the cycle of financial struggle.

This became the inspiration of my jewellery collection from the Heirloom of Strength- Bhramari: the Queen Bee, as a tribute to the journey of every strong woman.

About Bhramari

Each piece in Bhramari design carries a story — of growth, of overcoming, of beauty forged through life’s trials. A reminder that the most beautiful gems are shaped under pressure. It’s a bridge for dreamers, a community for the determined and a beacon of hope for those who, like me, have big ambitions but face several barriers.

Through our profits, we aim to provide scholarships, mentorship and support for young talents, especially to college students helping them move forward on their own paths to success and not settle for basic qualification.

When you wear a piece of Bhramari Jewellery, I want you to wear that with pride for it to tell your story. I want you to find strength in their beauty and to embrace the power that comes from resilience. Through each purchase, you're not just buying as a customer, you're contributing as a Brand Partner to a mission that opens doors for many individuals who deserve the chance to pursue their dreams.

Thank you for helping us make this vision possible.
